For a business to continue to thrive for over 70 years and three generations, it’s got to be something pretty darn special. Kittatinny Canoes provides each and every guest with an experience they won’t soon forget. Better yet, that experience includes activities along the magnificent Delaware River. No matter what you like to do, Kittatinny has something for you. You can go canoeing, rafting, kayaking, and tubing; however, if you’re not a fan of the water, you can go camping, play some paintball, and even go zip-lining.

Canoeing

Whether you’re an expert paddler looking for a challenge or just a beginner looking for fun, Kittatinny Canoes provides daily canoe trips to fit all levels. Not only will you enjoy the adventure of the ride, but you will also have the privilege of experiencing the spectacular scenery and wildlife along the way. You can take a breather on the Delaware River islands with a sack lunch, where your only requirement is to relax and enjoy yourself.

Rafting

There’s also no experience necessary to enjoy rafting along the Delaware River. With each raft holding up to six people, friends and family members will enjoy cooling off on a hot summer day. Regular dam releases from five different reservoirs maintain the river flow, allowing rafting with Kittatinny to be done all season long. My favorite part of our Kittatinny rafting trip was splashing our friends when our rafts got close!

Occasional calm pools along the way allow time for lunch, sunbathing and relaxing. While observing the views of the Pocono and Catskill Mountains, you’ll be able to paddle beneath cool cliffs and rock formations.

Kayaking

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience with Kittatinny, you should try kayaking along the Delaware River. Kittatinny provides daily kayak trips for everyone, from beginner to expert paddlers. The touring kayaks are easy to use and allow for efficient paddling through any type of water.

If you’re a beginner looking to become an expert paddler, try taking part in a lesson or two. Kittatinny offers basic paddling instruction with guided kayaking trips twice a month. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never touched a paddle in your life, the folks at Kittatinny will help you get started.

Tubing

Don’t like paddling? No problem. Tubing provides a calming and relaxing experience; all you have to do is lay back and glide along the tranquil waters of the Delaware River. With Kittatinny, you can choose one of the two different tubing trips offered daily. One meets at the River Beach site in Pennsylvania, while the other meets at the Kittatinny location in New York.

No matter the trip you choose, you’ll be taken upriver to a launch site, giving you a three-mile journey. This three-mile journey will last you about two or three hours (depending on the state of the river on that day). Reserving your tubing trip for around noon would be your best bet, for you can enjoy the refreshing water in the hottest part of the day.

Camping

If you’ve never camped out with Kittatinny, you are truly missing out. With hundreds of different campsites and acres of beautiful wooded grounds, you’ll be sure to find somewhere to settle down and set up your tent. You might even see wildlife (bald eagles, blue herons, etc.) while exploring the river islands and campgrounds.

River Beach Campsites are set up right along the Delaware River in the Pocono Mountains. At this location, campers can choose from over 160 sites on 18 acres of woodlands. This camp site offers visitors with river trips, river island adventures, riverside camping, exceptional bathhouses, an arcade, a laundromat, and even a unique souvenir store. Aside from River Beach Campsites, guests can choose to camp out at Kittatinny Campgrounds. Like River Beach Campsites, this location provides campers with a variety of service and recreation areas. Kittatinny Campgrouds offers an arcade, volleyball and badminton courts, swimming pool, hiking trail, laundry room, bathhouses, camp store and deli. www.kittatinny.com/camping/kittatinnycampsites

Paintball

Paintballing with Kittatinny is memorable and exciting! Not only do you and your team get to arm yourselves with paintball guns and strike opposing players, but you’re also able to play other adventure games such as Capture the Flag, Attack and Defend, Total Elimination, and much more!

The paintballs are water-soluble (they’ll dissolve in water), biodegradable, and non-toxic.

At Kittatinny, you have the unique opportunity to paintball on mountaintop playing fields that overlook the tranquil Delaware River. Kittatinny even provides guests with all equipment and transportation necessary to begin your paintball adventure. You’ll get a lift up the mountain in a military troop transport truck! http://www.kittatinny.com/adventure/paintball.

Zip-line

Zip-lining is the sport of soaring high above the ground while your body is secured in a harness and attached to an overhead cable. At Kittatinny, you can take a ride on a dual-racing zip line. One of the longest in the United States, it runs over 3,000 feet long! You’re able to glide 150 feet in the air at over 50 miles per hour while viewing the Delaware River.

Believe it or not, there are no special skills or talents needed to go zip-lining. The only requirements are that you’re at least eight years old and weigh between 60 and 250 pounds. http://www.kittatinny.com/adventure/zipline.
